Portola's designation as a highly gifted magnet mandates attention to the special needs of our highly gifted learners. Portola’s magnet is based on the philosophical principles of homogeneous grouping and differentiation of instruction that is commensurate with our students’ abilities. Students are expected to successfully complete a three-year sequential curriculum that is engaging, challenging and rigorous.
