Healthy Living, Youth Development & Social Responsibility As you may know, the YMCA is a charitable organization.

We believe our charitable efforts and the many services we provide to the underserved in our community are unmatched. We are also an open and inclusive organization: YMCAs are for people of all faiths, races, ages, abilities, and incomes. We provide scholarships to large numbers of local children and their families, to single mothers, and an ever-increasing number of local seniors. Between 2018 a

nd today we have given out over $900,000 to the families we serve. While our building at 62 Main Street has been sold, The Family YMCA at Tarrytown is not closing and is committed to providing the same quality programs that we have for the past 116 years. Our Board of Directors, management, and front-line staff are dedicated to our mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for our members and community regardless of the ability to pay. Our childcare, dance and cheer programming will continue at our temporary location at the Education First (EF) Marymount, Campus located at 100 Marymount Avenue while we search for our permanent home. Our virtual group exercise classes will carry on and we are expanding our virtual programming in the weeks to come and as the weather allows look for information about outdoor fitness opportunities.

Due to the forecast, The Family YMCA at Tarrytown's Annual Healthy Kids Day has been postponed to Saturday, May 2nd.

Don't miss out on all the fun and watch the Rotary Rubber Duck Derby race down the stream in Patriots Park. The Y will supply all the rides, facepainting, games, Bubble Bus, Mad Science and more! Food for purchase is also available from great vendors such as Arthur Avenue Wood Fire Pizza and Catering, TTFD BBQ, Jimmy's Soft Serve and other local favorites!

Last Thursday, the Family YMCA at Tarrytown celebrated its 6th annual Circle of Caring at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion, honoring WBP Development, LLC and its President Bill Balter with the Laurance S. Rockefeller Award and Dr Raymond Sanchez, TUFSD Superintendent, with the Len Andrew Spirit of Service Award. Over 160 guests attended the event and helped us raise over $105K to support the families we serve. Thank you to all of our generous donors and congratulations to our honorees!

The Family YMCA at Tarrytown, under the direction of Cindy Guzman, started its YMCA Elite All Stars Cheer program a few months before the pandemic. Now, for the third year in a row, our team won a spot in the most prestigious invitational in the sport of Cheer: an opportunity to compete at the Nationals which will be held May 9-11, 2025 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney, in Orlando, FL. Participation at Nationals -- called the Summit for All-Star Cheer Programs -- is by invitation only, and it is a testament to how hard our YMCA athletes and their coach have worked. This competition is a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these girls, aged 8 to 16. They will compete against the best squads in the country. They will have the opportunity to make lasting connections with girls from across the country and be exposed to college scouts and potential scholarships.
The team, parents and two coaches are on their way to Orlando, Florida today, May 8th to compete in this national competition. Whatever the outcome, you are our champions! They have worked hard for this accomplishment. Thank you to all who have supported this team. Good luck girls! We are so proud of you!
