Classmate Dennis Dexter Lynch, age 64, departed this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. He was born September 18, 1957, in Pitt County, North Carolina, to the late Leatha Lynch and his Step-Father Willie Ray Evans.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Hemby-Willoughby Mortuary.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Association Center, with Reverend James T. Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemeter

Our classmate, Geraldine Hines, lost her brother on Friday, July 2, 2021. Funeral services for Rev. Ashley Hines, Jr. of Tarboro, North Carolina, will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Salem Chapel Baptist Church, 1992 Fishing Creek Road, Tarboro, North Carolina. Burial will follow in the Hines Family Cemetery, Battleboro, North Carolina. A public viewing will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 in the Shawn Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 515 East 12th Street, Scotland, Neck, North Carolina from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm. Mr. Lynn Sherrod, 64, of Rocky Mount passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021. Services for Mr. Sherrod will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 1:00PM at Dickens Funeral Service Chapel, Tarboro, North Carolina with Assistant Pastor Arthur Manning officiating. A viewing will be held one hour before the service at 12 noon.

He is survived by his wife Deloris M. Sherrod of the home, two step daughters, Tarnette Anthony (Marcel), Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Danyell Hollis (David), Greensboro, North Carolina. one brother Alan Faulks (Phyllis) of Virginia, Five sisters, Shieley Carney, and Carolyn Smallwood, both of Virginia, Linda Ritchie (Melvin) Ohio, Clavon Thornhill Mississippi, Lucy Dickens, Speed, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Harvey C. Howell, 67, brother of classmate Phyllis Howell, died Thursday March 25, 2021 in Newport News, Virginia. Services for Mr. Howell will be held on Saturday April 03, 2021 at 12 noon at Conetoe Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Conetoe, North Carolina with Bishop Antoino Gregory, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Conetoe Family Cemetery, Conetoe, North Carolina.

Harvey was a graduate of the class of "1971" of Conetoe High School, Conetoe North Carolina.

He is survived by one son Franz "Heddy" Thigpen (April), of Lehigh Acres, Fl, one daughter, Jokila "Kila" Walker of Goldston, North Carolina. Five sisters, Miriam H. Harrell (Robert), Phyllis C. Howell, Roslyn H. Allen, Gwyn L. Howell and Joyce Pugh (Rev. George) all of Tarboro, North Carolina. Four brothers Dennis (Maxcine) of Loganville, Georgia, Melvin (Vanessa ) Princeville, North Carolina, Brad (Sharon) of Winder, Georgia, Rev. Benjamin Worsley (Verna) Tarboro, North Carolina. Six grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A public Visitation and Viewing will be held on Friday April 2, 2021 from 2:00PM-6:00PM at Dickens Funeral Services, Tarboro, North Carolina. The Service will be Live-Streamed on our page. We will be following the COVID-19 guidelines in distancing and ask that masks be worn for both services.
