Not a great year for corn but extension work persists nonetheless. Edgecombe Extension harvested our on-farm corn variety trial on September 4th. With help from amazing farmers and cooperators we were able to see the varieties that did bad and which ones did worse in a dry year. Results will be released before January; just in time to make decisions on seed orders for season 2027. If you have any interest in hosting a trial or seeing the results from this trial please reach out to the Edgecombe Cooperative Extension Office.
