Today's NCSU Employee Appreciation Brickyard shoutout goes to our dynamic Agriculture Team of Mitch Smith and Sydney Jalali. These two bring the passion for all things agriculture. Mitch is our Part-time Horticulture Agent and Master Gardener leader. He can be found working in the gardens around the Administrative Building or working on the fountain in front of the building. Mitch has a wealth of knowledge and we are so thankful he has chosen to spend some time with us in Edgecombe and share with us his knowledge of horticulture. Mitch loves to tell a good joke or story so if you are in the area stop by and say hi, but be ready to be entertained. Mitch, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for the horticulture program in Edgecombe and for leading our fabulous Master Gardeners.

Sydney is our Field Crops Agent and can be found helping farmers with issues with their crops or planting a field trial. Sydney has a heart for agriculture and farmers and their mental health. She is working in her program area to bring awareness to mental health for farmers and farming families. Although she has a passion for agriculture, she has a new title that she is most proud of and that is being called MOM. Sydney, thank you for all you do to help serve the farmers, and farming families in Edgecombe County.

Mitch and Sydney thank you for being our great county Ag Team.
