Last night was about so much more than football.
Tarboro Football, in partnership with Tarboro High School Athletics and Tarboro Football Club, proudly turned Viking Stadium PINK in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to honor three remarkable women whose journeys embody faith, courage, strength, hope, and perseverance.
π Stephanie Walker β Thriver & Community Advocate
For 11 years, Stephanie has lived with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer while using her voice to advocate for others. A nurse of more than 40 years, she has taken her message from our community to conversations with doctors, researchers, nurses, patients, and advocates around the world. Her commitment is especially strong for those who are underserved, underrepresented, or feel they do not have a voice. Through every high and low, Stephanie stands firm in her faith and her belief that God is not finished with her yet.
π Linda Coker Weinstein β Survivor & Tarboro Viking Family
A proud 1975 Tarboro High School graduate and wife of former THS graduate and Head Football Coach Russell Weinstein, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2026. She faced her journey with tremendous faith, strength, and dignity, successfully completing her treatments and continuing targeted therapy through February 2027. Lindaβs strength is an inspiration and a reminder of the power of faith and perseverance.
π Kimberly Trapp β Survivor, Educator & Viking Superfan
A beloved Tarboro High School faculty member, Kimberly was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. Her journey included chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trials, and many difficult moments. Through it all, she leaned on her faith, prayer, and the love of those around her. Returning to Tarboro High School in 2016 became part of her healing, and she continues to pour that same love and encouragement into her students. Her message remains simple and powerful: Keep the faith. Keep hope alive. Keep trusting God. And, of course, Viking Nation knows her as one of Tarboro Footballβs biggest fans! ππ
Behind every pink ribbon is a person. A family. A journey. A story. Last night, Viking Nation stood together to remind everyone touched by breast cancer that they do not stand alone.
π Support the Fighters.
π Admire the Survivors.
π Honor the Taken.
π And Never Give Up Hope.
To Stephanie, Linda, Kimberly, and every person whose life has been touched by breast cancerβwe see you, we celebrate you, we remember with you, and we stand with you.
Last night, Viking Stadium was PINK, but the message was bigger than a color. It was LOVE. HOPE. FAITH. STRENGTH. COMMUNITY. π
