Accelerated Kinetic Arts

Accelerated Kinetic Arts AKA (Accelerated Kinetic Arts) is a learning system designed to help anyone learn a movement art at an accelerated rate. Unnaturals? What are those tools?

The goal of AKA is to give any student access to the learning methods that "naturals" use to master a movement art. It is my hope that in interviewing advanced practitioners about their way of learning and drawing out commonalities, a system can be built to help anyone learn a dance, sport or martial art at an accelerated rate. Inevitably there are students who learn more swiftly than others in th

e same class. We call them "naturals,” scratch our heads and get back to being... what? I posit the notion that what defines a natural is the tool kit of learning mechanisms they have at their disposal to break down a a body of knowledge into pieces they can understand and make their own. Are they specific to the student or universal? Can they be used to learn any movement art? Can they be clearly defined and systematized for the benefit of any practitioner? The first step in answering these questions is interviewing Movement Naturals to find out exactly how it is they learn. The next step is drawing out the most prevalent commonalities, distilling them to their simplest form and creating exercises designed to train effective learning methods. Thereafter it will be a question of testing those exercises in conjunction with each-other to create a cohesive system that can be used by any practitioner to learn any art at an accelerated rate.
