Dear Friends,
We are excited to share the remarkable success of La Luz de Taos 2026, which proved to be the most successful gala in the history of the Couse-Sharp Historic Site!
We are thrilled to share that together we raised nearly $400,000 to support the preservation of the historic Couse and Sharp properties, groundbreaking scholarship and research, exhibitions, educational programming, and the continued growth of the Couse-Sharp Historic Site. This year we also announced the exciting new expansion of the Site with the purchase of the Kibbey Couse Houses to expand our artist, scholar, researcher and intern housing program! We look forward to sharing more information on this exciting development soon!
This year's event brought together more than 300 guests and 71 participating artists, creating an unforgettable celebration of art, culture, and community. The energy throughout the weekend reflected the deep connection so many people feel to the artistic legacy of Taos and to the important work of preserving and sharing that history for future generations.
From the remarkable artwork generously contributed by participating artists to the enthusiastic support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees, every aspect of the weekend demonstrated what is possible when a community comes together around a shared mission.
The success of La Luz de Taos extends far beyond a single weekend. The funds raised will help ensure that the Couse-Sharp Historic Site continues to bring the legacy of the Taos Society of Artists to life through historic preservation, collections stewardship, research, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and artist-centered programming.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and the many artists who made this event possible, thank you for being part of this extraordinary achievement. We are deeply grateful for your support and honored to have you as partners in preserving one of America's most significant artistic and cultural legacies.
With gratitude,
Davison Koenig
