It’s a bird… it’s a plane… no!! It’s Book Club! 📚💕✨📚 Thank you Utah Navajo Health System x Navajo Mtn. Community Health Center for having NDN Girls Book Club at the annual Teddy Bear Clinic 💕💕 it was amazing seeing all the babies and students coming through and getting to fill their backpacks with books and back to school goodies. They then got to do a health checkup with brand new teddy bears— and the bears got checkups too! Families also got to tour the health clinic, meet the clinicians and the whole team, and even tour the helicopter that came down from Page. ❣️ Ahxéhee’ to all of the partners who created such a wonderful event. We were completely cleaned out of books 📚 ❣️

Dolly Parton loved being “the Book Lady,” something her father said was maybe the most important thing she ever did in her life. She gifted millions of books to children beginning in her hometown, creating something that will hopefully continue to bloom long after her passing. Wildflowers don’t choose where they grow, but they grow and they grow and they grow. You can support her dream by donating to the Imagination Library, fighting for organizations strengthening literacy and creating greater access to books, and continuing to fight against book bans. Notably, the Imagination Library faced pushback from this administration and a lack of systemic support in the past years. I’m sure Dolly predicted this would happen and fought to make sure her and her daddy’s dream would endure. We will fight to honor that dream every day. 💗💗💗💗

NDN GIRLS BOOK CLUB is an organization run by Native youth + educators that distributes free books by Native authors to youth and families for free.
