CAMP Program

CAMP Program CAMP staff can assist students with: Tutoring, Financial Aid counseling, Monthly stipends throughout the academic year and many more.

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a unique federally-funded educational support and scholarship program that helps students from migrant and seasonal farm working backgrounds reach and succeed in college. Participants, if qualified may receive anywhere from $750 to $4,800 in financial support during their freshman year of college and ongoing academic support until their graduation.

TO QUALIFY FOR CAMP: Must be eligible for admissions to UNM-Taos and enter as a first-year student. Be from a migrant/seasonal farm worker background. Either the student or his/her parent(s) must have worked at least 75 days in the past 24 months OR have been eligible to participate in Chapter 1 Title 1 Migrant Education Program OR you attended the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) within the last 12 months. Each student accepted into the program must enroll full-time for at least 12 credit hours each term, maintain good academic standing, and participate in advising, tutoring, and social/cultural events as specified in the CAMP contract.
