Our hybrid educational delivery model uses a unique combination of direct classroom and digital instruction with proven curriculum to address each learner’s individual needs. Flexibility in scheduling allows for the student to work in our technology labs or wherever a high-speed internet connection is available. Students attend the Taos Academy facility for tutoring, workshops, and classes in our media arts lab or in our science/ math/ engineering lab.

Classroom Highlights at TA this week:
1) Mr. J's Green Science class explored the key features of the scientific process.
2) Mrs. Henshaw's Geometry students constructed interactive notebooks and then engaged in a fun Geometry Debate. " If you want to turn your life around would you rotate 360 degrees or 180 degrees?"
3) Mr. Moulton's Algebra 1 students tackled PEMDAS in a team challenge.
4) Mrs. May's Algebra 1 class completed a math fluency activity and then a CSI game to use math to solve a mystery.
5) Mr. Smith's Global Studies class presented their sustainability goals.
6) Mr. V's Smart Lab students began identifying a problem they can address with 3D Printing technology.

Exciting moments of learning in Middle School today...
Mr. Pepper's math class applied ratios to real-life problems by making different dilutions of electrolyte drinks and discussing their nutritional values.
Mr. Smith's Global Leadership class worked in teams to investigate the importance of sustainability goals and the populations they impact the most.
Mr. Moulton's math enrichment worked on solving problems with volume and practiced their math note-taking skills.
Mrs. Wetmore's ELA enrichment completed a gallery walk and identified components of utopias and dystopias.
Ms. Barraza's ELA enrichment developed short stories which they read aloud and provided feedback on.
Mrs. May's ELA enrichment identified the protagonist and antagonist in a reading.
Mrs. Witney's Math enrichment received explicit instruction on adding negative numbers and the commutative properties that exist for addition and multiplication.
