Taneytown Dance Center TDC provides pre-professional performing arts training, encouraging cultural and self-awareness. Welcome to Taneytown Dance Center LLC!

We pride ourselves on the integrity of our studio and the quality of the dance experience. We strive not only to instruct dance and technique but to encourage positive self-esteem, honor, poise, teamwork, and a strong respect for others. Your child becomes a part of a family, not just another student at the ballet barre. We are a non-competitive dance school that focuses on the love and art of dance!

It may be Spooky Season but our student dance companies are already preparing for this winter’s Snow Ball and Nutcracker Experience. Junior and Senior companies were excited to find out who was cast in each role!
Which Nutcracker scene is your favorite?

Meet Miss Cara…

As one of the founding members of the student dance companies at TDC, Miss Cara has marked every milestone alongside the dance studio. Season 23 sees her as our Assistant Director in addition to directing our Junior and Senior Companies. This season is also her debut as a dance parent. In her non-existent spare time, she loves to journal and scrapbook, and in case you didn’t know, she has always loved science and has her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.

Miss Cara’s favorite genre is Ballet.

Catch her in the drive-thru grabbing a “crispy full-sugar Coke”.

Cara may be the last to arrive at the staff meeting because… actually, she was early but she had to circle a few times to find an easier place to park her SUV.

We work hard and we play hard!

Our Prep Company dancers got back to rehearsal this week but took a minute to introduce their class mascot “King French Fry” to the studio and no first day is complete without a photo op!!

Be sure to tag Taneytown Dance Center, LLC in your “First Day” photo so we can repost your smiles!

Meet Miss Katie…

From dancer, to dance mom, to dance teacher. Miss Katie joined the TDC faculty last fall and was a perfect fit to our dance fam!

We’ll bet you didn’t know she was the 2005 Miss Maryland American Teen title holder (and the 2006 Miss District of Columbia American Teen)!

Her favorite genre is ballet.

Miss Katie’s favorite coffee drink is a venti white chocolate mocha.

Katie is most likely to be the last to arrive at the staff meeting because she “was negotiating a peace treaty over who gets to use the pink play-doh in her preschool class.”

Meet Miss Francesca…

After graduating in 2023 and growing in her career as a cosmetologist, she’s back as a member of the TDC faculty and in her premier season as Prep Company Director.

Her favorite genre is Modern/Contemporary.

Watch out because she just may drop and do the worm at any given moment… and it will probably be fueled by a crispy McDonald’s Diet Coke.

Francesca is most likely to be the last to arrive at the staff meeting because she “just needed a minute to finish the episode.”
