Miss Kim here ~
A week ago today, I was spending my week in NYC (2nd home growing up) with my best friend Jen, also an amazing studio owner in Ellicott City, at the dance convention. It was such a wonderful opportunity to connect, and re-connect with choreographers, educators, and fellow dance colleagues. Photos below.
But the take away is something that has always been a philosophy I have stood by: Always Be A Student !
There is always something to learn, no matter how long you’ve been teaching (30+ for me now), or how much you “think” you know. You will never know it all - that’s what makes the journey exciting.
There is always another perspective, technique, idea, or person that can teach you or inspire you. You don’t HAVE to know it all, because you won’t .
As a studio owner, and teacher/educator it’s important for me to continue to grow so I can also help my staff to grow with me.
Never stop learning, never stop growing.
I still am Blessed to have my teacher and mentor Miss Stephanie Powell with me to guide me always. How lucky am I?
So, join us for season 23 and be a student.
***loved all of these people in these photos -they inspired me . Not pictured Deb Vogel (I want to be her when I grow up) and Lauren Ritchie you are such a beautiful soul!
Paula Abdul Tiler Peck Tommy Tibball 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗼 (it was great catching up with you again Tony) Liz Imperio Stacey Tookey (I’m so sorry again I cried in your class, but sharing space with you was incredible), COURTNEY ORTIZ (REAL JAZZ - thank you), Julie Kay Stallcup (thank you for all you do for us dance teachers), Harlequin Floors Americas (so glad we met in real life lol), and lastly - a long hall in the New York library calls for jazz walks 🥰
Now let’s GO Season 23
