The author will be talking about Tangled Spirits and the research and inspiration behind it at The Gilded Page bookstore in Tarpon Springs. The event is a Local Author Book Club on Nov. 30 from 6-7pm. It's a free event, although attendees must purchase the book through the bookstore to attend.
The main character is an American college student studying Japanese language and literature in Japan, whose spirit goes back in time to the year 999. Tangled Spirits won the 2023 Florida Authors and Publishers Silver Award for Historical Fiction, and has garnered good reviews, including a "Recommended" from the Historical Novel Society. It's a humorous and poignant story that blends fictional and historical figures, and was edited for historical accuracy by a scholar of Heian Japan, Dr. Aileen Gatten of U-Michigan.
