University of Tampa Music Camps

Hey campers and families!
It’s time for my annual reminder about emails! 😂

If you’re not receiving emails from us, please make sure you have registered for camp first, and be sure to check your ‘junk,’ ‘spam,’ or ‘other’ folders. Every year I have a few parents who missed out on important information because the emails were in these folders.

All UTampa camp emails should come from [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected] with the exception of your copy of the registration form ([email protected]).

Piano Camp - if you’re registered, you should have an email from Monday 5/25 with required paperwork (you can complete digitally), the schedule for Sunday 5/31, the location, and more important details! I’ll send a reminder later this week.

Orchestra Camp - if you’re registered, you should have an email from Tuesday 5/26 with a request for “placement auditions” and some Sunday info. Full parking/schedule/details coming soon, probably early next week.

Choir Camp - if you’re registered, you’re good to go. I’ll be sending more details soon, but I need to get piano and orchestra camps settled first. I’m happy to answer any questions you have though :)

Our third summer camp begins in about 5 weeks, the University of Tampa Choir Camp! 🎶

The camp is open to singers currently in grades 6-12. We have room for everyone, but of course we could use more tenor/bass students and middle school students!

Activities include singing in a large choral ensemble, smaller musical theater numbers, music-related electives (guitar, songwriting/composition, dance), and a grand finale concert in the Sykes Chapel!

Students get the opportunity to work with UTampa vocal and choral faculty in our beautiful Ferman Center for the Arts.

Our second summer camp is just over a month away: the UTampa Orchestra Camp! June 7-12, 2026 🎻🪉

This camp is open to orchestral strings, harp, and classical guitar students currently in grades 8-12.

The camp includes large ensemble performing, master classes, stretching/injury prevention, music-related electives, and a grand finale concert in the gorgeous Sykes Chapel!

Students get to work with UTampa string faculty and local professionals to hone their skills and musicianship.

Our first summer camp is about a month away: the UTampa Piano Camp!! May 31-June 5, 2026 🎹

This camp is open to all students currently in grades 6-12, who have at least 1 year of piano experience.

The camp includes piano lessons, master classes, discussions of pedagogy/literature/history, group piano activities, and a grand finale concert in the beautiful Gordon Theater!

Students get the opportunity to study with our fabulous UTampa piano faculty: Dr. Grigorios Zamparas, Duncan MacMillan, Jane West, Joshua Cessna, and Shanna Thompson.

It’s that time of year again, registration is OPEN for our three UTampa Summer Music Camps! We’re going to have another fabulous summer of fun, learning, and music making!

Hey campers and families, I wanted to let you know about some of our upcoming concerts featuring your camp faculty!

Friday 10/10 (7:30pm) and Saturday 10/11 (2:00pm), we have our Choral Collage concert in the Sykes Chapel, featuring all 3 University concert choirs under the direction of Dr. Martin and Dr. Shores!

Saturday 10/11 (6:00pm) the University of Tampa Symphony Orchestra with Dr. Maddaleno have their first concert of the semester in Falk Theatre.

Saturday 10/18 (7:30pm), Mr. Padgett and Mrs. Swartzbaugh have a faculty recital for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone and piano in the Gordon Theater, located on the first floor of the Ferman Center for the Arts.

Admission and parking are free for all these events, if you’d like to join us. Hope your fall semester is going well! 😊

Choir Camp 2025 has been a blast so far, and we’re looking forward to these last 2 days together! Reminder: our finale concert is at 7:00pm on Friday (7/11) in the Sykes Chapel, if you want to see and hear the fabulous work these young musicians have accomplished this week! (Admission is free)

3) The return of World Drumming class after a few years hiatus.
4) Our choral and broadway ensembles hard at work.
5) Wednesday evening activities, including a fantastic dinner, a camp faculty recital, a Q+A session about UTampa and life as a music major, and a few games.

Last call for the University of Tampa Choir Camp 2025! Registration closes tomorrow afternoon! Our introductory meeting, paperwork, payment, etc takes place TOMORROW (Sunday) July 6th from 230-5pm.
