We asked 3 bilingual graduate students from USF'S SLP master's program to share their experiences with us. Miriam Granja, the previous VP and Treasurer of BLLING, will be joining us, and we will be sharing answers to questions from Megan Diaz and Marisol Thornberry on their behalf. We asked them several questions, including:
-What inspired you to pursue a career as a bilingual SLP?
-How has your cultural and linguistic background impacted your experience as a grad student?
-Do you have any advice for students who are applying in the fall?

It is that time again, Lovin’ Lit! We are so excited to work with the children and parents of ACHIEVE Plant City again. Let us know if you’re interested in participating with the link provided. This semester our theme is plant and personal growth! We will do a Bilingual shared storybook reading of Errol’s Garden by Gillian Hibbs. We will discuss the difference between equity and equality using a garden analogy. Lastly, we will have activities that to encourage everyone to reflect on their past personal growth and continue to keep a growth mindset by setting daily goals. We can’t wait! Good evening BLLINGERs! We are looking forward to Dr. Trina’s presentation on interprofessionalism. She is a Board Certified Applied Behavior Analyst who works interprofessionally with Speech Pathologists, and will be discussing her experiences with interprofessionality. On 2/16, we had a panel discussion with , four amazing Speech-Language Pathologists who are women of color. We discussed several topics, including their unique backgrounds, their successes/challenges as minority women in their field, what Black History Month means to them personally, and advice for aspiring clinicians from minority backgrounds. Join us for this event, where we will be playing clips from this panel discussion and inviting members to share their thoughts.
