Today we join women across the country in remembering Gloria Steinem.
Gloria spent decades fighting for women to have an equal voice, an equal say and equal power. She championed reproductive freedom and helped found the National Women’s Political Caucus to recruit, train and elect more women to public office.
That work helped build the foundation for organizations like Ruth’s List. We are proud to carry forward the mission Gloria helped advance: building women’s political power by helping women step forward, run for office and lead.
At a moment when our freedoms are under attack and women remain underrepresented in elected office, we must honor Gloria not only by remembering what she fought for, but by continuing the work she dedicated her life to.
