Matthew Foster, a co-principal investigator and associate professor in CFS, brings expertise in assessment development and intervention evaluation to the project.

Congratulations Dr. Foster 👏

A new $4.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education will help us better prepare educators to support young English learners.

Over the next five years, the interdisciplinary effort will bring together our College, the USF College of Behavioral & Community Sciences, Hillsborough County Public Schools and other community partners to strengthen language and literacy instruction for children from pre-K through third grade.

The initiative will equip current and future educators with practical tools to better meet the needs of multilingual children in their classrooms.

Project iSEBA brings ESE and Applied Behavior Analysis students together through coursework and field-based experiences, providing opportunities to learn across both disciplines.

Future special education teachers at can receive significant support while earning their degree. 🤘

Through Project iSEBA, eligible students in USF’s Master of Arts in Teaching in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program can receive up to $27,000 in funding. The project brings ESE and Applied Behavior Analysis students together through coursework and field-based experiences, providing opportunities to learn across both disciplines.

ESE students will also earn Reading and ESOL endorsements, further preparing them to support students in schools and classrooms.

The 2026 Serovich Scholars are turning their education into action, expanding access to essential services, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, addressing loneliness among older adults, advancing mental health and creating stronger communities.

The Serovich Scholars Program was established through a generous gift from Bob Clark in honor of his longtime friend and CBCS Dean Julie Serovich. Inspired by Serovich’s ability to connect people and communities, the program supports CBCS students who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to serving others.

The Marriage and Family Therapy program at USF is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Department of Child & Family Studies in the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to contribute to the growth of an established MFT program through research, teaching, graduate student mentorship, and service.

The Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy is a full-time, two-year, in-person program and is also Florida’s only COAMFTE-accredited master’s program in a public university.

Minimum qualifications:
✅ An earned doctorate — or ABD with degree conferred before appointment — in Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Science, Human Development and Family Science, Family Studies, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a closely related discipline
✅ An active research agenda with potential for sustained scholarly productivity leading to external funding
✅ Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at USF
