📣 UNIQUE ABILITY FAMILIES — STEP UP REMINDER!
There is an important NEW requirement for the 2026–27 school year that could impact your student’s scholarship funding.
If your student’s EMA status shows “Scholarship Choice Confirmed,” you must complete the Public School Attestation in EMA each quarter. This confirms that your student is not enrolled full-time in a public school.
🚨 QUARTER 1 DEADLINES
📅 August 15, 2026 — Complete the attestation to be considered for the August funding payment.
📅 September 15, 2026 — Complete the attestation to be considered for the September funding payment.
⚠️ This is important: Students will not receive funding if the required attestation is not completed by the applicable deadline.
A few other Step Up updates to know:
✅ “Awarded” has been replaced with “Scholarship Choice Confirmed” in EMA.
✅ “Award ID” is now called “Scholarship ID.”
✅ “Scholarship Choice Confirmed” means your student has met the initial eligibility requirements and you have accepted the scholarship. It does not guarantee funding.
💰 Funding is being added to student accounts on a rolling basis and may take up to two weeks. Families should continue monitoring their EMA account for funding and invoices.
📌 Looking ahead: Students must have an Enrolled status in EMA by September 30, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET to be considered for Quarter 2 funding in November.
Please log into EMA and check your student’s status and required actions. With the August 15 deadline only a few days away, we encourage families to take care of the attestation now!
