Congratulations to Shannon Hoffman ’08 on her induction into the AHN Athletic Hall of Fame at this year’s Spring High School Sports Banquet! 🚣‍♀️🏅

Shannon was honored for her remarkable rowing career, and the moment was made even more special because her AHN rowing coach, Jorge Rodriguez, was there to present her Hall of Fame medal.

While at AHN, Shannon earned First Place honors at the Southern Sprints Indoor Championship and still holds the record for the fastest novice woman. She went on to become the first AHN student-athlete to receive a rowing scholarship, competing for the University of Wisconsin.

During her standout collegiate career, Shannon helped lead Wisconsin to its first-ever Big Ten Championship Team Title, earning a 3rd place finish in the 2nd Varsity 4+ in 2010.

Today, Shannon continues to inspire the next generation of rowers through her coaching roles at AHN, Plant High School, and Tampa Prep Rowing.

We are so proud to celebrate Shannon’s incredible accomplishments and lasting impact on the rowing community!

Stephano Mastro ’11, AHN lifer, was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Monday in recognition of his outstanding athletic career and continued impact on the game of lacrosse. During his time at AHN, Mastro was an exceptional four-sport athlete, with lacrosse proving to be his greatest talent. He went on to excel at Jesuit High School, where he became the first Division I lacrosse signee in program history, earning a scholarship to Mount St. Mary’s University.

Following college, Mastro continued to give back to the sport through coaching lacrosse and now serves as an assistant coach for Jesuit High School. During his Hall of Fame speech, he credited Coach Mike Doyle for introducing him to lacrosse in middle school, calling it “the single most pivotal moment” of his life and emphasizing that “sports is more than just about sports.”
