From our Faculty Chamber Music Recital ✨

Johannes Brahms — Piano Quartet No. 3 in C minor, Op. 60
III. Andante
Often considered one of Brahms’ most deeply personal chamber works, the Andante from his Piano Quartet No. 3 unfolds with quiet intensity and heartfelt lyricism. Its tender melodies and subdued colors create an atmosphere of longing and reflection, revealing the emotional depth beneath the surface. Many believe the music reflects Brahms’ lifelong admiration for Clara Schumann, a relationship filled with devotion, inspiration, and unspoken emotion.

We are excited to host a special piano masterclass this Saturday, May 23rd from 10:00–11:00am at New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy with Michael Chertock!
Professor Chertock is the Chair of the Piano Department at CCM, pianist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and conductor of the Blue Ash-Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. He was also Dr. Jain’s piano teacher at CCM and is in town this weekend to perform Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with The Florida Orchestra in St. Pete.
A piano masterclass is a unique opportunity for students to perform and receive live feedback, musical ideas, and coaching from a renowned guest artist while audience members observe and learn throughout the process.
This event is free and open to all students, parents, and music lovers interested in learning more about piano performance and musicianship. We hope you will join us for an inspiring morning of music and education!
