Dunbar Elementary Magnet School recently brought together generations of alumni, staff, families, and friends to celebrate 100 years of memories and learning! 🩺❤️🎉

From BBQ and games to free books and plenty of Dunbar pride, the centennial celebration was a wonderful reminder of the lasting impact this special school has had on generations of students and families.

This week, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the expanded Hospitality and Tourism Magnet Program at Jefferson High School.

Made possible through an exciting partnership with Visit Tampa Bay, this expansion will give students even more opportunities for hands-on learning, industry connections, and real-world experience in one of Tampa Bay’s largest and fastest-growing industries.

We’re preparing the next generation of hospitality and tourism professionals right here in Hillsborough County, and we can’t wait to see where they will go!

HCPS board members and staff volunteered at the 2026 Bullard Family Foundation's Back to School Bash! 🎒🤩

Thank you to Titus O'Neil and the various community partners for making today's event a success! This morning, over 30,000 backpacks were distributed, and students were offered important medical services as they prepared for the first day of school. 🏫

The Hillsborough County Tax Collector's Office is hosting two Student Services and License Renewals on August 22 and September 26 in Brandon! If you know a student ready to take their written or road skills test to get their driver's license, or a family member looking to renew their license, this is their chance. 🚗

Appointments are required. Families can call 813-635-5200 (option 5) to register and schedule an appointment for this event, which goes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note: spots are limited and appointments cannot be made online.

The Plant City Chamber hosted its annual New Teacher Breakfast on Friday morning, welcoming new teachers from more than 20 HCPS schools! 🍎📚

Teachers enjoyed a delicious breakfast, had the chance to win raffle prizes, and received an assortment of school supplies generously donated by local Plant City businesses to help them start the school year off right!

What an incredible day it was at the 19th Annual Back to School Fair! 🎒💙

A huge THANK YOU to Tampa Bay Parenting and the thousands of families, community partners, volunteers, vendors, and staff who made the event such a success! Seeing our community come together to support students as they head back to school is what it's all about.

The HCPS Transportation Team kicked off the new school year this morning with its annual kickoff meeting at the Lake Wimauma Convention Center! 🚌

Team members heard inspiring messages from Superintendent Van Ayres, School Board Member Patti Rendon, and special guest Cordarius Jones, better known as "Mr Bus Driver," who shared strategies for building meaningful connections with students, families, and school staff.
