Nanfed - North American Network of Field Educators and Directors
The North American Network of Field Educators and Directors (NANFED) was founded in 1987 to promote the interests of social work field education.
Re-incorporated in 2013 and established as a 501(c)3 in 2015, NANFED is a network of field educators working together to independently represent field educators, promote and celebrate quality field education, and support best practices in field education. Our 2016 Heart of Social Work Award recipient!
Congratulations are in order for Heather McDonald, LOFT’s Director of Adult & Youth Services. Heather was selected for the 2016 Heart of Social Work Award!
This award is presented by the North American Network of Field Educators and Directors in recognition of a field instructor that has made exemplary contributions to field education and the social work profession.
Heather works closely with the University of Toronto and LOFT’s student placement program. While accepting the award, Heather said, “without love, without caring or compassion we can’t make meaningful relationships with our students, with our service users, with our staff or with each other.”
We couldn’t agree more. Congrats, Heather!
