🚀 54 years ago 16 July 1969, Apollo 11 climbs toward orbit after liftoff. In 2½ minutes of powered flight, the S-IC booster lifts the vehicle to an altitude of about 39 miles, some 55 miles downrange.
The F-1 rocket engine is still a modern wonder — one and a half million pounds of thrust, 32 million horsepower 😮, and burning 6,000 pounds of rocket grade kerosene and liquid oxygen every second. Fifty-four years ago the world watched as five particular F-1 engines fired in concert, beginning the historic Apollo 11 mission. Those five F-1s burned for just a few minutes, and then plunged back to Earth into the Atlantic Ocean, just as NASA planned. A few days later, Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon.

☮️!!!Attention Hippies!!!☮️
Our lead guitarist Bill Daniel has stepped back from performing to deal with some health issues.
In turn, we have spent some time finding someone who could step in and be a good fit for the role, and we think we've found him.
Everyone, give a big double peace sign ✌️✌️ in welcoming
Fred George to the band! 🎸☮️

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. To this day, I feel honored to have been a part of such a groundbreaking album. Our goal at the time was to stretch the boundaries of the recording process, and in the process create something magical. And I think many will agree we achieved that goal. As engineer, I was grateful that the band was open to a number of my suggestions, which included the use of the clocks on the intro to Time, as well as utilization of a very talented vocalist who I had previously worked with named Clare Torry for the vocals on Great Gig in the Sky.
The fact that we are still talking about this album 50 years later is something I never would have dreamed possible. And yet, here we are….
