Bringing together organizations and families throughout Pinellas to ensure all of our youngest neighbors are prepared to thrive in kindergarten and life.

Thrive by Five is a cross-sector network dedicated to promoting the equitable development and lifelong success of children aged 0-5. We bring together caregivers, agencies, businesses, and civic officials to amplify and accelerate access to services and resources for families. Our focus is on the “whole child” ideology, encompassing their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional well-being.

On Tuesday we had our Thrive by Five Adopt-A-Center Kick off with PCS’ Melrose Elementary and the City of St. Petersburg!

We plan to work together to support the social, emotional, and academic growth of Melrose’s 4-year-olds. By investing in these children, we are impacting their future and empowering their families, as we encourage parents to foster a love of reading at home. Together, we are creating a foundation for lifelong learning and strengthening family bonds!

Thank you to everyone who came!

Thrive By Five Pinellas positioned to transform early education programs and engagement in 2019

A recent state report shows only 57% of Pinellas children were "ready" for kindergarten. To address this and related areas of need, The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg awarded a multi-year, Transformative Grant to The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County (ELC) in 2018 to launch Thrive By Five Pinellas (TBFP). The initiative’s ambitious goal: bringing together organizations and families throughout the county to ensure all children in Pinellas County are ready for kindergarten. (Read more about the grant here.)

“Thrive By Five Pinellas is a collective impact initiative, which means we’re working to transform early childhood in Pinellas County through intense collaboration and alignment of resources,” said Kate Bauer-Jones, director of Thrive By Five Pinellas. “We’re engaging hundreds of stakeholders, all working together to ensure that Pinellas County has an equitable, accessible, responsive, and accountable early childhood system.”
