Handwashing is more than a daily routine. It is an important Montessori Practical Life lesson that builds independence and connects classroom learning to everyday living.
As children learn to follow each step in the correct order, they develop sequencing skills, concentration, coordination, independence, and an understanding that everyday tasks have a beginning, middle, and end.
Especially during cold and flu season, proper handwashing also helps children build healthy habits while reducing the spread of germs within our school community. 🧼🤲

Our Toddlers have been exploring primary colors & basic shapes through purposeful work. 🟡🔺️🟦

They practiced identifying and matching red, yellow, and blue, along with circles, squares, and triangles. Teachers extended these experiences beyond the classroom, encouraging the children to discover shapes in their outdoor environment and make connections between their work and the world around them. 🌱

Through matching, sorting, art, movement, and repetition, children strengthen visual discrimination, concentration, language, and early mathematical understanding - all while learning through hands-on exploration at their own pace.

In our Older Infant classroom, the five senses came to life through simple, hands-on experiences: looking in a mirror, listening to maracas, exploring textures, smelling fresh herbs, and tasting a banana. 👅
At MAC, our classroom spaces are thoughtfully curated and prepared to bring lessons like these to life. Every material and experience is intentionally chosen with each child’s age, development, and natural curiosity in mind.

Room 3 has been exploring the difference between living and non-living things! Through a hands-on sorting activity, our students observed different objects, discussed their characteristics, and worked together to decide where each one belonged.
Activities like this encourage observation, classification, vocabulary, and critical thinking while helping children make connections with the world around them. Wonderful! 🌎

Room 4 has been busy learning all about “My Family” and “My Body.” 🏡

Through stories, hands-on activities, matching work, puzzles, and art, our toddlers explored the special people in their families while learning to recognize and name different parts of their bodies.

These meaningful experiences encourage language development, self-awareness, fine-motor skills, and a growing sense of identity!

Room 2 has also been learning all about "My Family" and "My Body!" 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Our older infants explored familiar family faces through photos, simple vocabulary, stories, and a special family art activity. They also discovered parts of the body through songs, picture cards, matching, and hands-on materials - pointing, identifying, and making connections with their own bodies. 👌
At this age, learning starts with what children know best: themselves and the people they love. These experiences support early language, recognition, self-awareness, and a growing sense of belonging. 🩵
