In this Farm-Ed classroom, Olivia and Anne noticed something wasn’t right with their tomatoes. Instead of scrapping the fruit or waiting for the next recipe phase, they did what real scientists do:
They observed.
They researched.
They formed a hypothesis.

After investigating the symptoms, they identified the problem and connected it to a potential calcium deficiency in the developing fruit. From there, they proposed adjustments and a treatment plan.

This is what authentic inquiry looks like.

Today kicks off a brand-new grow cycle in Farm-Ed classrooms—and it’s a mystery in the making!

Learners are launching an Herb Experiment, planting six pods of herbs with one catch: no one knows which seeds are which! Labeled only as A, B, and C, this grow challenges students to observe, record, and analyze data using their AI-powered Grow Chambers and Data Dashboards.

Students will put their scientific thinking to the test this quarter! They will be tracking growth, making predictions, and collecting real-time data to uncover the identity of their mystery herbs.

We can’t wait to see what’s growing (and what they discover)! 🌱
