Sixty-two eighth graders are now Corbett Prep graduates, ready to take on exciting new challenges and adventures in high school! The students spoke beautifully as they shared their memories and goals during a sparkling graduation ceremony in Bellini Gym Thursday night. As Ms. Jagdmann told the students, while their families are their biggest cheerleaders, “we, your Corbett community, will always be here to welcome you home.”

Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Fifth graders sailed into sixth grade with the annual cardboard boat races today! The students worked in teams to design and build boats from cardboard and duct tape. Then they had to test them to find out if their boats were seaworthy. The class headed to the Bob Sierra YMCA Youth and Family Center to race their boats across the pool. It was hard to tell from the cheers and laughter what was more fun – finishing the race or sinking! What a perfect way to kick off the summer! Happy Last Day of School, everyone! 🛶🛟

This morning was our youngest students’ time to shine during three of the sweetest ceremonies! The PreK3 Fond Farewell, PreK4 Beach Buddy Bash and Kindergarten New Beginnings looked back on favorite memories and ahead toward new milestones in the future. Kindergartners even came to applaud PreK4 students as they prepare to become Imagineers next year! We congratulate all of our Early Primary students on an amazing year of growth, discoveries and friendship.

Cheers to our first and second graders who published their books on difference makers this month! Each student highlighted a person in history who made the world a better place. Upper Primary studied how one person’s contributions can lead to positive change in a society as part of their International Baccalaureate unit “How We Express Ourselves.” The students read biographies and wrote and illustrated their own reports that teachers compiled for a book. They celebrated in their classrooms when the books arrived!

We looked to the past and the future during our final assembly of the school year this morning, honoring volunteers and the Class of 2026 and generating excitement for 2026-27! The assembly began with the Candlelight Ceremony, where each eighth grader bequeaths their legacy to others and stands together in front of the entire school in a moment of reflection and celebration. Then it was on to an enthusiastic tribute to our many dedicated volunteers so we could say thank you before treating them to a sparkling brunch on campus. We wrapped up the morning with the Moving Up Ceremony! This tradition lets us mark the passage of time with laughter, music, high fives and occasional misty eyes as students scramble to the spots in the bleachers where they will sit next year. We have so much gratitude for this chance to spend time together before summer begins!

Book Buddies kicked off today with a wonderful morning where the entire school came together to read! Older students paired with younger students to read “Pete at the Beach” and do a “Pete the Cat” craft. Our intermediate and Middle School students modeled kindness, patience and empathy as they spent an hour with their buddies, sharing a story and learning more about one another. Look for more Book Buddies events next year – this is one of the three “Give to What You LOVE” projects that teachers proposed and donors funded in February! This new effort is such a valuable experience as it builds community and also instills a love of reading!

Kids helping kids! Students at Corbett Prep collect donations for Cereal for Summer 05/18/2026

Under the leadership of two seventh graders, Corbett Prep had a huge outpouring of cereal donations for Feeding Tampa Bay's "Cereal for Summer" program. Students piled up the boxes to help make sure children in our community can have breakfast all summer, a time when many families struggle to keep food on the table. We are so proud of our kids! Be sure to watch this video and see service in action.

Kids helping kids! Students at Corbett Prep collect donations for Cereal for Summer Corbett Prep students are leading the way in collecting and donating cereal boxes for hungry kids. Join us in supporting the cause.

Fifth graders shared uplifting performances and thoughtful presentations before audiences today that they said were designed to make guests “think, wonder, smile and make some changes in the world.”

The annual fifth-grade International Baccalaureate Exhibition allows students to share part of their journey through the IB Primary Years Programme.

Individually and in small groups, students investigate global issues and concerns. Students demonstrate their ability to take responsibility for their learning and their capacity to take action as they are actively engaged in planning, presenting and assessing their learning. It culminates in a beautiful performance where they sing, dance, rap and act to communicate what they have discovered, before inviting the audience to learn more in their interactive displays.

Exhibition celebrates the development of internationally minded students who make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of others. Congratulations to our fifth graders on this milestone in their education!

Our eighth graders are ready to save lives, thanks to the generosity of the Corbett Prep community members who participated in our "Give to What You LOVE" campaign in February!

The fundraiser supported three campus projects that teachers proposed earlier this spring. This week, we got to see the debut of the new "Keep the Beat" program!

Donations helped us purchase eight new adult and infant CPR-training mannequins, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with lifesaving skills. The entire eighth-grade class successfully completed certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid through the American Red Cross!

This initiative will continue each year, providing every eighth grader with the opportunity to become certified before graduation. It ensures our students are prepared to respond confidently in emergency situations. These valuable skills not only promote safety and preparedness, but they also strengthen our students’ commitment to giving back and serving their community.
