From carrying their belongings and putting materials away to choosing work and caring for their classroom environment, these seemingly small responsibilities are an important part of the Montessori day.

Each time a child thinks, “I can do it myself,” they are building more than independence—they are developing confidence in their own abilities that will carry into everything they learn this year.

📚 Elementary Orientation Begins This Week!

We look forward to welcoming our elementary families as we prepare for an exciting new school year!

Please see the schedule below for your child’s Orientation Night. Each session will begin promptly at 6:15 PM, so we encourage families to arrive a few minutes early.

Please note: Orientation is a parents-only event. We kindly ask that you make arrangements for your children during this time so you can fully focus on meeting your child’s teacher, learning about classroom expectations, and preparing for a successful year ahead.

Preparing for a Successful Start
As we begin looking ahead to the new school year, now is a great time to gradually re-establish school routines. Consistent bedtimes, morning routines, and opportunities for independence can help children feel confident and prepared for the transition back into the classroom.

Practical Life is Learning
Montessori education recognizes that everyday tasks are valuable learning experiences. Cooking, cleaning, organizing, gardening, and caring for pets all help children develop coordination, responsibility, concentration, and independence.

Why match when you can mix? This Friday is Mix It Up Day! Mix your colors, patterns, and outfits for a fun day of creativity and self-expression. The more unique, the better!

Balance Activity and Rest
Children thrive when active play, quiet work, and rest are all part of their day. Providing opportunities for movement, creativity, independent exploration, and downtime supports healthy development and emotional well-being.
