Rita Macias Afro-Cuban Dance Class

Rita Macias teaches the rhythms and dances associated with the Orishas, deities in the Yoruba religion brought to Cuba from Africa.

Each Orisha watches over different aspects of life, and their dances reflect those roles. Students will be introduced to the dances of the Orishas, explaining how the movements reflect each Orisha's role and personality. Each class features a gentle warm up, across the floor progressions and an in depth study of footwork patterns and isolations. Open level with live drumming.
