The Harrell Center was founded in 1997 by private philanthropists: James and Jennifer Harrell. The Harrell Center is part of the University of South Florida's - College of Public Health. The current director of the Harrell Center is Abraham Salinas-Miranda MD, MPH, PhD. The Harrell Center works on several projects around the community and globe to help work towards ending domestic violence.
