Water Wednesday, always a camp favorite! ⚜️ ☀️

Our Saints in Spain enjoyed a great tour of Mestalla Stadium, home of the Valencia Club de Fútbol Mestalla! 🇪🇸 ⚜️

Our Summer Saints had a wonderful day in the art studio! We made painted popcorn 🍿 and colorful cotton candy. We also love having our junior counselors and CITs helping out! ⚜️ ☀️

Each day, three of our Saints in Spain are designated as the leaders for the day, sharing the itinerary and plans for the day, and keeping our group organized. This is an important part of the study abroad experience🌟 This evening our Saints arrived at their hotel in Valencia, the Hotel Venecia, overlooking Plaza Valencia. What a view! 🇪🇸 ⚜️

Step right up to the greatest camp on earth! It’s Circus Week at Summer Saints. We’ve kicked off summer with a blast! ⚜️ ☀️

Today our Saints in Spain are on a guided tour of architecture in Valencia, including a visit to the beautiful La Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange), a UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of late Gothic civil architecture, built between 1482 and 1533 as a center for silk trade. Students shopped for lunch at the “Mercat Central” market then crossed the ancient gates of the city to arrive at Turia Park to enjoy their bocadillo lunch. 🇪🇸 ⚜️

Today our travelers hiked to a garden to pick loquats (‘níspero’ in Spanish) and to a town park to leave their mark with chalk, play music, wash their hands in a fountain with fresh water from the mountain, and eat lunch — bocadillos with tarta de Santiago and chips from the region. Late afternoon included yoga, cooking dinner, a dance lesson to learn “La Jota” (a traditional dance of Valencia), and a farewell fiesta before heading to Valencia tomorrow! 🇪🇸 ⚜️

Today our Saints in Spain enjoyed a guided hike, had time to relax, and learned how to make dyes out of vegetables. Then they let their creative juices flow, using the dyes to make unique art! ⚜️ 🇪🇸

Basketball Camp with Coach Schultheis was a hit this week! The rest of our summer camps kick off this Monday, and another basketball camp for rising 5th-8th graders is set for the week of June 8th with a few spots still available. Go Saints!

Day four included a very full afternoon for our Saints in Spain! They visited the Sagunto Museum, St. Mary’s Church, the Jewish Quarter Sagunto, and the Sagunto Castle, a fortress overlooking Sagunto, near Valencia. The site’s history extends back over two thousand years and includes Iberian, Roman and medieval remains. 🇪🇸 ⚜️
