What a way to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week at Riverhills! 🎉

Our AMAZING PTA started the day with an incredible breakfast spread themed “Pump Up the Jams” and “This Is How We Brew It” — and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! ☕🍩

Throughout the day, staff enjoyed well-deserved massages (because you all deserve ALL the relaxation!) and lots of fun surprises. After school, we took it back to the 80s with a JCPenney-style photo shoot — I cannot wait to see those pictures! 📸✨

Administration kept the fun going with raffles all day long — with prizes ranging from some hilarious “regifted” Principal’s Day items, to a free car wash, and a $25 Starbucks gift card won by one lucky teacher, Ms. G. Robinson! ☕🎁

We were also honored to welcome Van Ayers, Chris Farkas, Shay McRae, Patty Rendon, and members of the communications department for a very special visit. They helped us recognize one of our own who truly goes above and beyond.

We surprised our incredible math coach, Brooke Vazquez, with a special gift — and it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person. Ms. Vazquez is not only a champion for student learning and teacher support in math, but also the heart behind so many of our family events. She is an integral part of our school family, and we are so grateful for her dedication! 💙

It was an amazing first day, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

This past Saturday, our elementary strings students had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Westshore Strings Invitational alongside other talented schools from across the county. The day was filled with engaging workshops, collaboration, and lots of music-making as students learned from one another and grew as performers.
The experience culminated in a beautiful combined concert featuring all five schools—what a powerful moment to see so many students united through music! We are so proud of our students for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding representation of our school.
A big thank you to Mr. Dow and the other organizers, clinicians, and families who made this special event possible. Bravo to all! 👏🎶

What an incredible night at our Elementary School Spring Concert! 🎶🌸
Our talented students wowed us with performances from World Drumming, Strings, Chorus, and Rock Band—each group showcasing their hard work, creativity, and musical talent. The evening ended with a special finale of Count on Me, featuring students from all four groups performing together. What a memorable way to celebrate teamwork and music! 🎤🥁🎻🎸
A huge shoutout to our amazing Strings and Music teachers, Mr. Dow and Mrs. Hagen, our wonderful staff and family volunteers, and a very special thank you to our assistant principal, Mrs. Gillespie, for joining us as guest soloist on the rubber chicken—definitely a crowd favorite! 🐔🎶
We are so proud of all of our students and grateful to everyone who helped make this concert such a success. Bravo to all! 👏✨
