My daughter loves the Twelve Days of Christmas. I am going to put together a book with things that she likes, like Dora, Barney and other characters. We are going to make a book together by adding the text as she remembers it. A great activity that your child will continue to enjoy. I will post some pics when we are done. Good learning experiences do not have to come from a textbook.

As I homeschool my kids, I am always looking for tricks. I found this great set of sentence frames on TeachersPayTeachers. I use the Fantasic Card Holder (comes in sets of 3) from Super Duper and it is a lot easier to work with. Links posted below.

My daughter had a seizure. It was a very scary experience for all of us. It took hours to come out of the experience and return to her usual activities. I received a prescription from her neurologist after arguing with the insurance company for weeks on it. It took her doctor to do a peer review. The insurance wanted her on a daily maintenance medicationfor seizures first in order to be covered. Cost of the prescription of Valtoco with no insurance $2000. Cost after fighting more than 30 days $75. Medicine is never given after the first seizure. We were lucky in that the seizure didn’t set her back on her progress on speech impairment but not everyone is. Someone can die from a seizure but putting her on a daily medication regime is not necessary. Adocate for your child, as you can win. Also, do not allow for over medicating.
