As the school year comes to an end, our 5th grade team is reflecting on what an incredible and rewarding year it has been. We recently celebrated our students during the annual 5th Grade Awards Ceremony, where several students were recognized for their hard work, character, leadership, academic achievements, and embodiment of our Trinity Truths.
This group of 5th graders has truly left a lasting impression on us. They are thoughtful, funny, resilient, and have grown tremendously both inside and outside of the classroom throughout the year. Watching their confidence, friendships, and independence develop has been so special.
We are beyond proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see them continue to thrive as they begin their middle school journey next year 🌪️

On April 22nd, six teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the Battle of the Books Club competed against each other in Trinity’s Middle School Battle of the Books Competition. The teams answered multiple detailed questions about each of the fifteen books on the Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Middle School Book list. The Middle School Battle of the Books requires students to focus on teamwork as they work to comprehend the novels and answer complex questions that dive deep into the works.
Congratulations to all students who participated, especially the winning team The Devilish Rainbow Sloths (aka Dr. Sloths): McKinnon Bell, Myla Shaffer, Fiona Canner, Wyatt Wilson, Gavin Lelak, Nathaniel Nelson.
The following students read all fifteen books and were presented with a certificate commemorating their achievement: Jonathan Rodriguez, Bea Crockett, Juliette Boltz, Isabel Lacombe, Myla Shaffer.

The 6th Grade Core teachers hosted their 5th annual Trinity Games! 🏹🔥 6th and 8th grade tributes competed in events created by the Game Makers (hand-selected 6th and 8th graders!) as part of our 6th grade class novel, The Hunger Games. Throughout the unit, students followed Katniss’s journey, created sponsorship posters to demonstrate their understanding of rhetorical appeals for their district’s tribute, and explored how survival depends on both intelligence and strength.
Congratulations to our winning district, District 3, and our champions: Reid Brignac & Duke Dowsett! District 9 put up a great fight, and the final game of Flag Tag came down to an intense ending, but ultimately District 3 came out on top!

Trinity’s production of Disney’s Newsies Jr. was an incredible success and a showcase of the talent and hard work of our students! Cast A, who performed on Saturday, captivated the audience with their energy and confidence, bringing the Broadway musical inspired by the 1899 New York City newsboy strike to life.
Ms. Heather, our Music Teacher, and her assistant, Ms. Ashley, spent countless hours preparing and working with students to rehearse lines, learn choreography, and strengthen vocals to prepare for them for this performance. Their growth throughout the process was evident on stage as they delivered powerful musical numbers with plenty of moments that had the audience cheering.
A huge congratulations goes out to our talented cast, crew, directors, volunteers, and families who helped make opening day such a success. We are so proud of Cast A for an unforgettable performance! Look for our post on Cast B’s performance.
