🌪️ Alumni Spotlight: Alissa Pradera, Class of 2017! 🎨

We’re proud to spotlight Alissa Pradera, a talented artist who continues to give back to her Trinity community!

Alissa received the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Collegiate Scholarship in 2023 and 2024 and showcased her talent at the University of Tampa’s MSD Gala.

With deep family roots at Trinity, Alissa continues to stay involved. She donated two original pieces to our Sneaker Ball auction, photographed Trinity sporting events, and helped with our 8th grade celebrations.

Today, Alissa serves as the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs at the University of Tampa. She is a wonderful example of Citizens Improving Society!🌪️

Trinity’s High School Night brought seventeen Tampa Bay area schools to campus, giving our 6th–8th grade students and families a chance to explore what’s next! Students and parents rotated through sessions to learn about each school’s academics, extracurricular activities, and unique opportunities.

A highlight of the evening was welcoming our Trinity alumni back to share their high school experiences. We loved seeing familiar faces reconnect with our school community and hear about all they have accomplished.

This annual event is beneficial in helping our middle school students think about the next steps in their educational journey. It leaves them with helpful information and new connections, as well as get them prepared to apply to their high schools of choice.

Special thank you to Ms. Angie for continuing to coordinate this wonderful event for our students!

Our 4th Grade students put their engineering skills to the test in Science! After learning about the Engineering Design Process and exploring how engineers solve real-world problems, students took on an exciting challenge: designing a device to protect a raw egg from cracking. With limited materials and time, they designed, tested, and improved their creations along the way. This hands-on challenge brought learning to life as students collaborated, problem-solved, and discovered that sometimes the best designs come from learning from what didn’t work!

🥊🔥 A NIGHT FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS! 🔥🥊

The lights. The energy. The ROAR of the crowd. What an UNFORGETTABLE night at Trinity School for Children! 🌪️Thanks to an amazing sold-out crowd, generous sponsors, volunteers, wrestlers, partners and supporters, $95,000 was raised to benefit Trinity School for Children and the Hillsborough County FireRescue Foundation!

The night kicked off with incredible wrestling action, followed by an epic Royal Rumble that had the entire crowd on its feet! And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, the main event brought down the house—Madison vs Prado (Title vs Career)!

More than anything, we are grateful for the way our community showed up—giving, cheering, volunteering and coming together for two causes that mean so much to so many.

A huge shout out to our very own Trinity Class of 2003 alumnus, Joe Prado! Joe was instrumental in bringing this incredible experience to life. From behind the scenes to making his own appearance in the ring during the Rumble, Joe helped create a night our Trinity community will be talking about for years to come!

One ring. One community. One unforgettable night. 🥊🏆

And if there’s one thing we know for sure…

Last week, we celebrated one of our favorite EC traditions, Grandparents Day! The O’Dea Center was filled with smiles, big hugs, and so many sweet moments as grandparents spent time alongside their grandchildren on this special day.

From singing special songs and playing a few fun rounds of bingo, to visiting EC’s very first Scholastic Book Fair of many, there was so much excitement to share! Our Middle School Athletic and Arts Center helpers joined in on the fun, assisting our Tiny Tornados as they picked out their books and practiced staying within their budgets. We loved seeing our older students step up to help make this first Book Fair experience such a special one!

Thank you to all of the grandparents, special friends, and student helpers who joined us and helped make the week one our Tiny Tornados will always remember!

And while that may not be the usual chain of events, it is a pretty great example of what can happen if you are open to it!
Getting involved with the PPA does not have to mean signing up for a huge commitment. There are lots of different ways to pitch in, meet other parents and find something that works for you.

WHY GET INVOLVED?

✨ It’s good for your child. When parents are connected to their school community, their kids benefit too.

🤝 Meet other parents and build your school community.

👀 Stay in the know about events and activities.

🙌 Find a way to contribute that fits you.

🎉 Have fun while doing something good!

❤️ Show your child that you care about their school.

📣 PPA MEETING | OPEN TO ALL PARENTS

Wednesday, September 16 | 6:00 PM
📍 Athletics & Arts Center

Come meet the PPA Board, learn about the different committees and hear about all the ways you can get involved. No big commitment. No pressure. Just come see what is out there and find a role that feels right for you.

And yes, you will earn 1 Parent Hour just for attending! 🙌

Who knows? You might just come to a PPA meeting and leave with a new friend, a new way to get involved... or, apparently, a board position. 😂

Third graders in Ms. Laine’s class brought the scientific method to life! As they explored different states of matter, they investigated which brand of dish soap could create the biggest bubbles. Eagerly testing several options, our young scientists measured the diameter of each popped bubble and recorded their findings. Their enthusiasm filled the classroom as they shared their results, making this hands-on experiment a bubbly and memorable science adventure! 🫧📏🌪️

6th graders took learning to new heights during their field study at Empower Adventures! 🧗‍♀️

Throughout the day, students stepped outside of their comfort zones and worked together to encourage and support their classmates. From building confidence and practicing leadership to strengthening communication and teamwork, this experience gave our students plenty of opportunities to grow both individually and as a group.

Field studies like this remind us that some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom walls! We loved watching our 6th graders cheer each other on and make memories together along the way.

What a great way to kick off this year’s field studies! 🌪️
