It’s been a few weeks since our 5 Day Mini-Course and I’m still pumped from all that happened during that week.

There was something special I felt in witnessing our students experience revelations throughout the five days.

The week all in all was a reminder of how impactful our programs can be.

While people were learning things they didn’t know before and seeing things in a completely different way, I realized I was doing some learning of my own. After having several conversations with people over that week, it became clear to me that the knowledge I was using to propel my business forward isn’t general knowledge.

There are tons of SMART and TALENTED people who simply didn’t have access to what I’ve known for quite some time. People who weren’t yet aware of all the wonderful possibilities that are out there once you implement systems into your business.

How do you greet the day?

Seriously, give it some thought. Are you in the club that wakes up early, ahead of the sun, and gets in some sacred time for journaling, a workout, maybe some meditation?

Are your mornings a time of careful action and a proper introduction to the day ahead?

Or are you waking up late with a head full of panic, rushing through the morning without any time for reflection or exercise?

Is your morning a cacophony of tension or a symphony of calm?

How you spend your morning will dictate the kind of day you’re going to have and ultimately, the kind of life you’re going to have. Mornings that are carefully planned to include time where you take care of yourself will yield better, more productive days.

I’m a walker. I like to kick my day off with a BMW - brief, meditative walk. It gets the cobwebs out of my head and helps me move my body in a way that makes sense for me. Some mornings I’ll hit the gym and others, I will journal out some ideas. The running theme here is that I CREATE better days because of the way I spend my mornings.

As a business owner, husband and father, I simply CAN’T afford not to take the very best care of myself each morning. My morning rituals are what enable me to be the best human I can be in all areas of my life.

It may seem easier and maybe even more efficient to just sleep in and scramble out the door to attack your workday but I will tell you that it isn’t. It’s far better to carve out time in the morning for whatever it is you need. It can be a hard workout or simply some time with your eyes closed in deep thought. What’s important is that you prepare yourself the RIGHT way before the workday begins.

I recently sat down with Grant Baldwin, youth pastor turned public speaking coach and expert. Grant’s company, The Speaker Lab, is an incredibly successful business helping others launch their own speaking businesses.

At the top of our talk he said “You can do all the things, but you can’t do all the things at once.” This really struck me because this statement is very much aligned with how I run my business and my life. What Grant meant was that in business, being a generalist and serving a large group of people won’t make you as successful as being a SPECIALIST. That is, finding one specific sector in the market and serving the hell out of that sector by helping those people solve their unique challenges.

This model can also be applied to being a business owner. When you are working IN your business, you probably find yourself performing all the tasks. You may start the day answering emails, then move onto inputting CRM data, then hit the cold call list before taking a client to lunch. It would make more sense and certainly save you HOURS of time if you just specialized and focused on the revenue driving activities, the tasks that will actually grow your business.

It’s easy to find yourself doing everything as a business owner, but after a while these activities just move things along. You don’t make any big strides in your business because you, the OWNER, don’t have the time freedom to do the big picture thinking, the strategizing, and the networking. You aren’t able to SPECIALIZE in performing as the true owner of your business and in turn, your business and life outside of your business eventually suffer.

Last week, the team sold $30k+ ... this will put us right on pace to break $1M for the year.

In 2019, we did our first $1M year ever. And I was working 6 days weekly and putting in 10-14 hour days. Crazy to think back to that time period. 😮

Fast forward to 2022 and The Game Changer staff deserves all of the praise! They are willing to follow our simple systems and execute them daily.

I run five 30 minute department meetings weekly. Everything else is run by the 8 person staff (all under the age of 21). It’s like a machine that continues to run and operate with or without me.
