May you read that again....over and over.

Too often, people don’t doubt whether they have a voice.....they doubt whether it matters.

But value doesn’t always show up in volume or perfection. Sometimes it shows up in impact, presence, and the way your words land on the right person at the right time.

If you’ve been questioning whether your voice carries weight, here are 5 ways to recognize that it does:
1. You don’t have to be the loudest for your voice to matter.
Some of the most impactful voices are steady, not loud.

2. If people pause when you speak, your voice carries weight.
That’s not random....that’s influence.

3. Your story gives your voice depth.
Even the parts you think are “too much” or “not enough” are what make it real.

4. If it helps someone else feel seen, it has value.
Your voice was never just for you.

5. The fact that you’re afraid to use it sometimes proves it matters.
Fear usually shows up where there’s purpose.

Your voice isn’t waiting to become valuable.
It already is....you’re learning how to trust it.

You have a voice, but

If we’re honest, most of us only use it when it feels safe, not when it actually matters. Not when it’s time to speak up, tell the truth, or shift the room.

So we soften it, filter it, second-guess it… and over time, we disconnect from what our voice even sounds like when it’s fully ours. And here’s what I need you to understand: it’s not a confidence issue, it’s conditioning.

Your voice has been shaped by who you had to be to be accepted.....the easy one, the strong one, the one who learned how to adjust instead of express. So now you’re trying to “find your voice” using habits that were built to hide it.

But your voice isn’t lost....it’s layered. And the real work? Unlearning everything that taught you it wasn’t safe to use it fully. That’s where your real voice begins, and that’s the part nobody really talks about.

What’s something that’s not talked about when it comes to singing?

Photos from Love Your Voice 101's post 03/23/2026

There’s a conversation we don’t have enough.
Not about how to use your voice…
but about why it feels so hard to access in the first place.

Because truthfully,
most people aren’t struggling with confidence.
They’re struggling with conditioning.

The moments you held back.
The times you were misunderstood.
The environments that taught you to shrink, adjust, or stay quiet to belong.
That doesn’t just disappear.
It shows up every time you want to speak fully… but don’t.

And it’s subtle.
It sounds like overthinking.
It feels like hesitation.
It looks like “I’ll say it later.”
But later rarely comes.

At Love Your Voice 101, this is the work we lean into,
not just helping you use your voice,
but helping you understand what’s been sitting on top of it.

Because your voice was never the problem.
It’s everything you had to carry that made it harder to hear.
Take a moment today and ask yourself:
When do I feel the most like I’m holding back and why?
That answer?
That’s where your voice starts waiting for you.

Advocating for your voice isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s simply deciding that what you have to say matters enough to be expressed.

A lot of people silence themselves before anyone else even has the chance to hear them. They overthink their tone, their words, how they might be perceived, or whether what they have to say is “important enough.”
But your voice was never meant to stay on standby.

Learning to advocate for your voice means practicing small moments of courage every day.

Here are 3 simple ways to start:
1. Stop shrinking your words.
Pay attention to how often you soften your message before you say it. Phrases like “this might be dumb,” “I’m probably wrong,” or “sorry if this sounds crazy” quietly train people to take your voice less seriously. Instead, practice stating your thoughts clearly and calmly. Your voice doesn’t need an apology before it enters the room.

2. Use your voice in low-pressure spaces first.
Confidence with your voice grows with repetition. Start speaking up more in everyday conversations, sharing an opinion at dinner, sending a voice note instead of a text, or contributing a thought in a meeting. The more your voice hears itself being used, the less intimidating it becomes.

3. Take care of the instrument.
Advocating for your voice also means respecting it. Hydrate, warm up before heavy vocal use, and give yourself moments of breath when tension builds. Whether you’re a singer, speaker, rapper, or someone who just wants to communicate with confidence, your voice deserves the same care you’d give any important tool.

Your voice is more than sound.
It’s expression.
It’s identity.
It’s influence.
And the more you advocate for it, the more powerful it becomes.
How are you learning to advocate for your voice lately?

Whose voice feel safe to you?
Let's give them their flowers...

We want to thank you for providing safety 🤎

What makes you feel unsafe using your voice?

02/02/2026

How many times have you silenced yourself because you didn’t like how you sounded?

Too shaky.
Too quiet.
Too emotional.
Not “put together” enough.

So you wait.
You wait to feel confident.
You wait to feel ready.
You wait to sound “better.”

But voices don’t develop in silence. They develop in use.
Every time you speak, even imperfectly, you build strength.
Every time you share, even nervously, you build confidence.
Every time you try, even shakily, you build trust with yourself.

Perfection is not the entry requirement for being heard.
Presence is.
Your voice is not behind.
Your voice is becoming.
And if no one told you yet, you don’t need to earn the right to speak.
You already have it. 🤎
