The campers worked hard to put together a special showcase that brought high energy and summer vibes to the gymnasium floor.

Check out the mini dancers in action and our very own Crusaderettes leading the camp and teaching dance fundamentals and choreography.

Both men are also members of Tampa Catholicโ€™s Athletic Hall of Fame. John was inducted for his outstanding achievements in baseball, and Darrell was recognized for his excellence in football, basketball, and track and field.

At the induction ceremony, Darrell accepted his award and delivered a moving speech surrounded by fellow Crusaders and supporters, including Bob Henriquez โ€™82 and Carrie Henriquez, former Dean Jesse Roger, Athletic Director Emeritus Don Dziagwa, and School President Robert Lees.

Although John was unable to attend, his remarkable contributions to the game of baseball and enduring legacy were celebrated and honored.

Mrs. Shannon Sincell Norden โ€˜82 retires after 13 years in service as a teacher at TC.

Mrs. Norden has been bleeding green since she was a teenager. After graduating in 1982, she remained a dedicated alumnus and sent two of her children to TC to follow in her Crusader footsteps. Her service to the school extended far beyond from being an graduate, parent, and teacher as she coached lacrosse, moderated the senior class, assisted on the weekends, participated in the schoolโ€™s talent show, organized retreats, mentored, became an integral member of the Theology Department, and so much more. This list does not tell the full story of Mrs. Nordenโ€™s commitment to TC, but the moral of it all is she cares about this school so much, and it shows!

Her legacy lives on through the colleagues she mentored and the studentโ€™s lives she touched through her teaching and desire to see them succeed.

Mrs. Norden, thank you! You will always have a Home on Rome! ๐Ÿ’š

Mrs. Sara Mehltretter retires after over three decades of teaching at Tampa Catholic High School.

Mrs. Sara Mehltretter has faithfully served as a Social Studies teacher at Tampa Catholic High School for 36 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to Catholic education. Since joining the Tampa Catholic community in 1990, she has made a lasting impact on generations of students, shaping both their intellectual growth and moral foundation. As Chair of the Social Studies Department for many years, she helped shape the department into what it is today.

A constant and trusted presence in our halls, Mrs. Mehltretter has been a guiding force for colleagues, especially new educators. Her willingness to listen, mentor, and share the wisdom gained through decades of service reflects both her leadership and deep dedication to the vocation of teaching. Her legacy is woven throughout the fabric of the Tampa Catholic community.

She brought global issues into her classroom in ways that truly resonated with students. Especially during times of crisis, she encouraged them to consider all perspectives while always leading with empathy for the marginalized.

After the heartbreaking loss of her home during the 2024 hurricanes, Sara showed extraordinary resilience, continuing to serve her students with strength, grace, and unwavering dedication.

We are deeply grateful for her faithfulness to this vocation and the example she has set for all of us. May God continue to bless her.

Congratulations, Mrs. Mehltretter, on your retirement after 36 remarkable years at Tampa Catholic High School. Your legacy will live on in the halls, through the faculty and students whose lives you touched, and in the world through the generations you inspired.

It is with an extremely heartfelt thank you and bittersweet goodbye that TC cheers her on to a well-deserved retirement.

We invite everyone to share a special memory of Mrs. Mehltretter.

Youโ€™ve worked hard, took notes, and hit the books to study. Take a breath and do your best as exams begin today, Crusaders! Youโ€™ve got this! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“š

Salesian Prayer Before Exams:

Dear Lord, as I take this exam, I thank you that my value is not based on my performance, but on your great love for me.

Come into my heart so that we can walk through this time together.

Help me, not only with this test, but the many tests of life that are sure to come my way.

As I take this exam, bring back to my mind everything I studied and be gracious with what I have overlooked.

Help me to remain focused and calm, confident in the facts and in my ability, and firm in the knowledge that no matter what happens today you are there with me.

Amen. ๐Ÿ™
