Years ago, I walked into a skilled nursing home as a timid and shy CNA, and years later I walked out as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (CEO). How did I do that? My story begins back in 2009 when I was barely able to feed myself let alone my son. I made $9 bucks and some change. Not to mention I was so broke that I had to return to work two weeks after giving birth to my son by c-section. Because I wanted to give my son a better life than the one I had growing up, I decided not to be a product of my environment. So, I leveled up my healthcare career by taking every opportunity that came my way? I worked in various departments within the skilled facility whenever they needed a fill-in without complaint. During this time, I learned all that I could so that when a department position opened up, I could apply for it. I applied for several positions. As I was advancing at my job, I secretly went to college and got my degree. I worked as a CNA, RECEPTIONIST, WARD CLERK, STAFFING, BUSINESS OFFICE, MEDICAL RECORDS, CARE COORDINATOR, ADMISSIONS, and SOCIAL SERVICES before becoming an ASSISTANT NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR. Then I became a LICENSED NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR earning a life-changing six-figure income and doing what I love. But I didn't do it alone. While I was climbing the ladder, I met people who inspired and motivated me, as well as people who tried to tear me down. It didn't stop me because GOD put the right people in the right places at the right time. Why am I telling you this story? To show you that if I did it, you can too!! It's time to stop with the excuses. Level up your career today!
