Happy Father's Day to all the dads especially my daddy 😘

He's my favorite guy in the whole wide world and I love him so much. I’m so thankful for my daddy every day because he makes the best oatmeal, rice, mackerel, and dumplings, he takes me on bike rides, and we go on the best adventures together.

I get sad whenever he has to travel for business but he always brings me back something special 😃He's the best.

♥️ 𝗔𝗘 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧 ♥️

In February 2018, when she was just 4 years old, we rushed Noonie to the ER after she became unresponsive at home.

After a bunch of tests that all came back negative, we were transferred and admitted to the children’s hospital where the neurologist almost immediately identified her symptoms as autoimmune encephalopathy and began the protocol of treatment while we awaited test results that would later confirm the original diagnosis.

But time was of the essence. The best outcome required aggressive treatment.

Over the next couple of days, my sweet baby was no longer able to speak or walk. She slowly lost her ability to walk or use the bathroom on her own.

Noonie was diagnosed with Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis—a rare form of autoimmune encephalitis—which is neurological in nature, creates inflammation in the brain, and most often initially presents as psychosis.

Our baby girl is a survivor ❤️ We hope to be a source of awareness because we knew NOTHING of this terrible condition before we were faced with it and the road to recovery can be long, hard, emotionally taxing, and isolating. We want every family on the journey to healing to feel supported and less alone 🤗

We did it! 2nd grade is in the bag 🥳

ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴜᴍᴍᴇʀᴛɪᴍᴇ ꜰᴜɴ ʙᴇɢɪɴ ☀️🌊

After doing virtual learning for the last 2 months of kindergarten and all of 1st grade, Noonie rocked 2nd grade and we’re so proud of her.

School is challenging for Noonie because she struggles with ADHD symptoms that make it difficult for her to stay focused and stay on task, but she has supports in place and works really hard to do her best work each day…and it’s paying off 🙂

We’re keeping it chill this week, but next week is camp then it’s back to chilling. No big summer plans 🤷🏽‍♀️
