Tampa Torah Academy

The community is invited to join us at 6pm tonight at TTA to see our 8th grade class graduation! Come hear many student speakers celebrate a well-rounded, excellent education in general and Judaic studies!

Kindergarten is exploring different forms of energy! 💡 🔊 ⚡️ The young scientists are very curious and enjoying using Snap Circuits to create light, sound, and kinetic energy. Student teams are getting hands-on problem-solving experience while also working on their social skills!

To conclude a social studies unit on U.S. government and our judicial system in particular, 8th grade+ went to the epicenter of the action: the county courthouse in downtown Tampa! As we say, צדק צדק תרדוף: justice, justice you shall pursue. Though imperfect like any human institution, our legal system is designed to uphold the rights of all people, protect freedom, and keep our citizens safe. It was an inspiration to visit and explore our county courthouse and consider many important ideas about the law, justice, deterrence, restitution, rehabilitation and more. They also read the play “12 Angry Men” and thus were very curious about jury duty and the role of prejudice in the deliberation room. We had an excellent tour guide and met at least six judges who gave lots of encouragement to our students to make great choices and pursue their dreams. The students were totally captivated by the courtroom proceedings, and we think some of them might just end up in some part of the legal profession someday! You be the judge!

Kindergarten and 1st grade had an amazing day of discovery at the Florida Aquarium! Their incredible field trip included the Operation: Shark! program and touring numerous wildlife and educational exhibits. When asked which animals they enjoyed seeing the most, the students’ list went on and on: sea anemone, barracuda, jellyfish, all kinds of sharks and birds, axolotl, electric eel, seahorse, snake, sea otter, puffer fish, giant sea turtle, snapping turtle, lemur, and alligator- which they also got to pet!!! Thank you to our incredible team of educators and chaperones!

It’s holiday bake sale time!!! 🍪🥮🍰🥧 The time to place an order is closing! We’re so proud of our 8th graders and hope these delicious baked goods will enhance everyone’s Shavuos! ⛰️ ✡️

The TTA 5th & 6th gr made a visit to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to culminate their earth science unit on outer space, in which they studied the moon, earth, stars, and other elements of the solar system. They were excited to see the Artemis mobile launch station returning on its crawlers to the VAB hanger, met a retired astronaut and saw numerous cool exhibits. The 8th grade was fortunate to get to attend this special field trip as well! It was a privilege and inspiration for the students to see the incredible possibilites that the United States offers in space exploration, the outermost frontier! 🌖 🚀 🛰️🔭☄️🧑‍🚀 🤔

Kindergarten just studied the solar system and space exploration. 🌍 🪐 💫 They even pretended to “board” the International Space Station, and imagined themselves in spacesuits like real astronauts! The students learned what it takes to become an astronaut, how international groups work together to advance science, and about the properties of different planets, through inter-disciplinary study. 📖 🎨 ✍️ What a memorable unit! Thank you, TTA teachers, for making school so fun and interesting!
