You’ve likely heard of imposter syndrome — it’s a term that gets thrown around a lot.

I had heard of it too but, up until a couple of years ago, didn’t really know what it meant. Nor did I realize how much I was feeling it.

I figured a little history on the term and sharing some common characteristics would be helpful — just as a baseline to better understand what it actually is and how it can manifest.

Anything surprise you?

Last year, I was suffering from the worst anxiety of my life. For me it showed up as panic attacks day + night, not eating (due to lack of hunger), stomach upset, among other physical symptoms. But the worst was emotional paralysis! At times it was severe, but during the more minor episodes, I worked with my therapist to develop ways to regulate my nervous system and work THROUGH the anxiety instead of trying to suppress it or push it away.

Today my anxiety has become much more manageable through these practices, therapy, coaching, meditation, yoga + more.

If you’re dealing with anxiety, know you’re not alone. For most of us we’ve been conditioned to push through or push away our anxiety versus really sitting with it, witnessing it and working through it. Doing these practices has helped me bring more mindfulness to my triggers and now I know when my anxiety is setting in so I can work through it right away instead of ignoring it and letting it fester.

What you’re trying to ignore will come back. Anxiety, like other blocks, fears, etc. is actually serving us. It’s indicating that there’s something underneath, within us, that’s needing to be explored 🤍

It’s also important when you’re dealing with anxiety to open up and lean on your community for support. This can be your friends, family, a therapist or a coach. Support + guidance from the right people (be mindful of who’s triggering you!) can broaden your awareness and it helps prevent you from getting more stuck in your head 🤍

What are some things you do to help when you’re feeling anxious? ✨

Disclaimer: I say *a little* because I know doing these things might not be possible in severe cases.

There are two types of compromise: inner and outer. Both relate to one another and are a part of decision making, but each has its own characteristic feelings and energies.

The simple fact is, compromise is a part of the human experience. It is unavoidable. But it is the type of compromises you’re making that can have a deep impact on your life. Are you living in alignment with your authentic self or are you sacrificing who you are + what you truly desire?

Compromise has been a central theme of my life, but it’s one I only recently became conscious of. Compromising myself and what I want, need and desire has been part of the deep work I’ve been doing.

So to discover I had Gene Key 14 in my hologenic profile, which has the transformational path of moving from compromise to bounteousness, was no surprise and extremely validating to the work I’ve been doing ✨

Throughout my journey I’ve been learning how making inner compromises impacts my life, relationships and overall happiness. I’ve also been learning how it impacts my intuition, spirit and trust in myself. (Let’s just say life would’ve been a lot easier if I had stopped making inner compromises a long time ago! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

This is why compromise has become the focus and center of my coaching practice.

A deeper dive into inner vs. outer compromise can be found on my blog (link in bio) 🤍

What type of compromises are you making more of?
