A few days ago- my oldest homeschooler turned 16 🫶🏾. She made me a mom. Went to campus with me daily and my village reassured me I could make it.

Watching her take on womanhood, entrepreneurship, her studies AND still have FUN and explore the world 🌎 is so amazing. She is the perfect blend of responsible teen and my goofy, little, inquisitive child 🫶🏾 We spent her birthday weekend honoring the life of a now ancestor. We made memories, met loved ones for the first time AND ENJOYED the sun 🫶🏾.

Fun Fact: Children learn at their own pace. My son King Nasir loves math and dinosaurs (self taught)… he is a good reader, but sometimes guesses big words. He does not like to get things wrong and often is hard on himself.

Progress looks different for us all. Teaching and guiding our children through those “failing moments” allows them to see how mistakes are just opportunities to try new ways to do things 💜

So excited to get this leader of the bunch started 🫣🙃. Journey is a Gemini and by far her moods affect our homeschooling 👀(some days she is game others she looks at me like girl please)…. As a 4 year old, I don’t homeschool long (maybe 30 minutes). We use a lot of hands on and video 🫶🏾

What age do you start homeschooling?

I homeschool AND work… I have to be intentional about the time I spend with my children. Each of my children has their own hobby but we LOVE the movies (especially 4DX) 😆 What is your favorite activity to do with your babies.

This is King. He is my youngest son and is very mathematically inclined. He is auditory. He loves 🦕🫶🏾.

I try to cater to all of those strengths as we go throughout our homeschool journey 🫶🏾

My daughter is 15 ♓️ and I appreciate how she stays in her and opens up to me about her life and experiences 🫶🏾 She is the oldest of my and made me the mommy I am today

We are learning our letters in a way and it helps a lot 💜 We use to learn letter and phonics.

Today we sang Phonics song… use our sand box to write A and used alphabet trinkets to recognize the Letter A sound 💜💪🏾 We will finish A out for the rest of the week and begin our next letter 💜

We can NOT underestimate the importance of for children. Playing is a vital part of the process and should be incorporated more and for older aged children 💪🏾
