Meet the team behind DI Private Teacher!

What began with one teacher and a vision has grown into a team of incredible educators who care deeply about the children and families we serve.

Many of our students work with us alongside their traditional schooling, including children attending academically rigorous schools who need consistent, high-quality support to remain confident and successful. Other families have chosen to entrust us with their child’s full-time education. In either role, our purpose is the same: to provide an educational experience built around the individual child.

We take the time to deeply understand how each student learns, where they struggle, what builds their confidence, and what they need to thrive. Doing that exceptionally well requires more than matching a child with a teacher. It requires expertise, thoughtful planning, collaboration, strong systems, and genuine care.

Your child may work directly with one teacher, but the care, knowledge, and strength of our entire program stand behind them.

All too often in education, the story goes like this:

A child is struggling, and even when the adults around them are caring and well-intentioned, the focus quickly turns to what the child isn’t doing.

They aren’t reading at the expected level.
They aren’t grasping the concept.
They aren’t staying focused.
They aren’t practicing enough.
They aren’t “responding” to the intervention.

But what if we asked different questions?

What does this child actually need?
What is missing from their learning environment?
How could the teaching approach better match the way they learn?
What foundational gaps might be standing in their way?

Children want to succeed. They want to feel capable.

The truth is that schools and most traditional tutoring programs are designed for groups. Deeply understanding one child’s mind takes time, flexibility, dedication, and an extraordinary level of individualization.

At DI Private Teacher, we sell outcomes.

A child who finally reads with confidence.
A student who no longer dreads homework.
A struggling learner who discovers they’re capable.

The lesson is simply the vehicle. What matters is where it takes the child.

One of the reasons I built DI Private Teacher the way I did is because I remember what it felt like to be a classroom teacher.

I remember spending hours collecting data instead of teaching.
I remember compliance meetings that could have been emails.
I remember scripted programs that left little room for professional judgment.
I remember endless documentation.
I remember being evaluated by people who weren’t the ones sitting in front of students every day.

Good teachers don’t need more micromanagement.

They need support.
They need trust.
They need the freedom to use their expertise.
They need opportunities to grow professionally and collaborate with other educators.

At DI, we’ve worked hard to create an environment where teachers are treated like professionals. We hire talented educators, give them the autonomy to make instructional decisions, and support them in doing what’s best for each individual child.

Almost every initial consult call we do, the parent says some version of this “Everytime I try to sit down and work with my child they completely shut down and refuse to work with me. It doesn’t end well and I feel terrible”

If this happens to you too, know that you’re in good company. Also know that your child probably just isn’t used to working with you in that capacity so they are testing the boundaries and seeing if you’ll back off. Usually parents will. Why is this? Because their child’s resistance activates a very real insecurity they feel but don’t say “I’m not good enough to teach my child, I can’t, I’m not even a teacher”

Those thoughts? They are lies. You are your child’s BEST teacher. You know them better than ANY teacher, any coach, and any specialist!

You were their first teacher. You taught them to walk, to talk, to eat with a spoon and fork, all the things! You absolutely can teach them to read, write and do math.

this is what we do a DI Private Teacher. We don’t just support the student, but we support the parent in supporting the student.
