UPDATE: we did not announce the Short Story contest winners last night at Fall Fest. We realized we didn’t have all the winners there at the same time. We will announce the winners Tuesday morning at TGS! 🏆 📖 ✍🏼
AND THAT’S NOT ALL…we were so impressed by the stories the students wrote that Mrs.Opp is working to create a booklet with all the stories to share with our community. Stay tuned for publication dates!

Thank you families and friends for helping us host another successful Fall Fest! Thank you to our Chili Chief judges, Perry County Sheriffs Office, Chad Howard, Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 Principal, Haven Hicks, and Tamaroa Board Secretary, Mackenzie Lively -it was a tough job, but you all handled it like pros. Thank you to Seth Bard of Bard Excavating & family for helping us with the hayride. Thank you to the Tamaroa Fire Department and Chief @ Rob Samolinski for the goodie bags and letting us shoot the fire hose. Thank you to the Heartland Ropemakers, Mr. Helvey and Mr. Logsdon for teaching us an important skill. Thank you to our DCFS friends for bringing resources for families. Thank you to Ms. Lamke for donating pumpkins for families. Thank you to our students for taking charge tonight and running the different activities. Thank you to the staff for all of your hard work planning and helping set up. Thank you to our PTO friends, Miss Copus and Mrs. Brasche for organizing and making sure everything runs smoothly. 🧼🫧 Clean hands, healthy friends! 🫧🧼

Mrs. Heather and Mrs. Deja from the Perry County Health Department visited our TGS Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade students to talk all about the importance of proper handwashing! 👐✨

Our students learned when and how to wash their hands to help keep themselves and others healthy. We are so thankful to Mrs. Heather and Mrs. Deja for taking the time to visit and teach our students these important healthy habits! 💙

Thank you, Perry County Health Department! 🧼❤️

🚨History made! 🚨Today at regionals, our first T/SB girls XC team qualified for the SIJHSAA state meet! The girls finished 3rd behind the CCSD 204 and District 50 teams.
The team placed three runners in the top 10 medalists: Summer in 2nd, Peyton in 7th, and Josie in 9th. Rounding out the team scores were Hallie in 31st, Brooklyn in 32nd, Brianna in 34th and Hope in 35th.
And although none of our boys qualified for state, we’re proud of our JV boys team stepping up to run Varsity. Many of them had PR’s today!
Next up is SIJHSAA state meet on October 17th in DuQuoin!

The T/SB XC team competed at the DQ Fall Classic today. This race is the same varsity course used for state competition so our JV runners were put to the test!

Our girls team was led by Summer finishing 27th out of 168 girls. As a team the girls finished 11th out of 24 teams.
The boys top finisher was Memphis who was 92nd out of 166 boys.
A special shoutout goes to Haddie who celebrated her 9th birthday 🥳 with all of us and ran the open race at varsity distance by herself! That took a lot of heart and determination! 💚🧡
Regionals are Monday afternoon in Pinckneyville. Stayed tuned for -hopefully-some state qualifiers!
