Gwen Doland is honored to serve as the Board President of Tama-Toledo Christian School. She is passionate about partnering with families and supporting a Christ-centered education where every child is known, loved, and encouraged to grow academically, spiritually, and in character. Gwen believes Christian education is a ministry and is committed to serving with humility, integrity, wisdom, and a servant's heart, seeking to honor Christ in every decision.
Gwen was born and raised in Tama, Iowa. After graduating from South Tama County High School in 1995, she went on to college at the University of Northern Iowa and later attended graduate school at Drake University.
Gwen and her husband, Mark, have been blessed with a large family and are the proud parents of eight children and grandparents to a growing number of grandchildren. Her greatest joy is investing in her family and encouraging the next generation to know and follow Jesus Christ.
Professionally, Gwen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and endorsed Infant Mental Health Mentor–Clinical. She currently serves as a mental health therapist and consultant specializing in infant and early childhood mental health, attachment, and reflective consultation. With more than 25 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to serving infants, children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by mental health challenges, substance use disorders, grief, and adversity.
Whether serving families in her professional practice or serving the Tama-Toledo Christian School community, Gwen's desire is to reflect Christ's love through compassionate leadership, faithful stewardship, and a commitment to helping children grow in wisdom, faith, and character. She believes that Christian education provides a unique opportunity to partner with families in developing students who love God, love others, and are prepared to serve Him throughout their lives.
