We love the house system that we built at Griffin as our takeaway from the Ron Clark PD! As others in the county move into the house system and houses exclusively constructed by Ron Clark, we want to walk in unity with our sister schools. Are you ready!!??? Because it’s coming!

On January 9 and January 10, 2018, seventh grade students of Griffin Middle School had the unique opportunity to participate in at The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The events are part of this year's festivities commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's assassination. The presentation featured an interactive discussion on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, as well as a guided tour of Dr. King's birth home and Ebenezer Baptist Church. Dr. King grew up in the historic African-American neighborhood of Sweet Auburn, similar to the Frenchtown community of Tallahassee. This trip was funded in part by the Leon County Schools Foundation grant as a part of a project to preserve the history of historic African-American neighborhoods.
Thank you for your support.

There was so much to see and do. As we walked the path that Dr. King walked It stimulates many questions from our students. The most frequently asked question was, “Were you alive during those times?” After answering yes, it left the students with a dazed look, which appeared to question how could a people champion a cause under such adverse conditions. Selah...
The struggle continues...

We have had a full day of activities in Atlanta, GA learning about efforts of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our souls have been touched by history. We anticipate being home about 10:45 p.m.

This has been a full day of understanding more deeply the cause Dr. King was called to:
