Yes, we took a break last week. This evening we came back to complete the Communication unit, and we had an amazing night! We learned some practical and spiritual aspects of the way we communicate with one another in relationships and possible reasons why we respond the way we do to one another especially during conflict. This is a great segue into our final focus, forgiveness. When we can communicate better, forgiveness can become easier. 😌

We are having a great time in class! In fact, we are having so much FUN, it was a bit difficult to CONTROL ourselves this last class and keep the PEACE for a PERFECT evening. 🤣 You had to be there for the intro to our next topic: Communication.
As you can see, each participant left class with a demonstration of what our communication can look like depending on "where we come from". The next couple of weeks will... "speak" for themselves.😂

We shouldn't enter into one another's world with the intent or motive to change it. We are visiting their personal mental space to better understand their need(s) for and from us so that we can go to God for them accordingly. Trying to understand your loved one with a purposed mind to change how they think or feel is not true empathy. It's like someone coming to visit your home with the intent of redecorating your space without your expressed permission.

There are going to be times in our marriages where all we can be is a safe place for our spouse. We can't always understand cognitively and emotionally what's going on within them. However, what we can always be is a safe place for them to talk and workout what is going inside of them. Pray about what they share with you as well as the parts you may not understand. Jesus can always reach into those places and speak to those concerns that we ourselves may not be able to assist them with. Pray to become a safe place or to strengthen your ability to be that space for your loved one.
