Florida State University Survey Research Laboratory Since its inception in 1978, the FSU SRL has conducted well over 400 surveys.
The FSU Survey Research Laboratory (SRL), a unit of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy at Florida State University, exists to provide a research resource for measuring public opinion on a broad variety of interests and policy concerns for university researchers, state and local government, non-profit organizations, and others in need of public opinion research services. As one of the
founding members of the National Network of State Polls, the laboratory adheres to the highest quality standards in all survey procedures, sampling, data collection, coding, and data processing. The facility and its staff are dedicated to promoting teaching, research, and public service goals throughout the College, University, and community at large. Due to the staff’s broad range of experience, the FSU SRL is able to provide the full range of survey and research services. Services include, but are not limited to, various forms of data collection, training, study design, sample and questionnaire development, conducting focus and discussion groups, processing data, and providing reports. Training workshops cover various survey research topics such as sample design, frame development, instrumentation, survey management, data entry, mode comparisons, and similar topics. Workshops are held at FSU and at the client's workplace. The FSU SRL team serves as a support system for faculty and graduate student research. Assistance with project methodology and analysis design can be provided for proposal development and the SRL team can serve as collaborators on funded research.
