Calling all families in Tallahassee! The Tallahassee Automobile Museum and a great group of community organizations are inviting you to a spectacular Family Fun Day.

Enjoy free admission, food, entertainment, and hands-on activities. FAMU 4-H Youth Development is participating and will have interactive exhibits and information. See the flyer for details on all of the participating nonprofits.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your family to explore the impressive automobile museum, connect with a wide array of support and opportunity, and have a great time!

Instead of sending fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, and yard materials straight to the trash, consider giving them a second life through composting. 🌱

Composting transforms organic materials into a nutrient-rich soil amendment that can help improve soil structure and support your garden.

☕ And yes—your used coffee grounds can join the compost pile! Just remember: coffee grounds are best used as one part of a balanced compost mix, rather than making up the entire pile.

From Soil to Sales: Practical Tools for Sustainable Farming

Join NCAT for a hands-on workshop with Turkey Hill Farm designed to help beginning and experienced farmers build healthier soils, improve crop productivity, and strengthen their farm business.

During this interactive workshop, participants will learn:

Healthy soil principles and why they matter
Composting basics and how to make quality compost
Cover cropping strategies for w**d suppression, fertility, and soil protection
Marketing strategies to help increase profitability and connect with customers

Planning your garden? Before you plant, take a moment to find out which USDA Plant Hardiness Zone you live in. Knowing your zone can help you select flowers, vegetables, herbs, trees, and other plants that are well-suited to your area.

📍 Here’s how to find your zone:
1️⃣ Locate your community on the Florida planting zone map.
2️⃣ Match the color of your area to the map legend.
3️⃣ Use your hardiness zone to help guide your plant selections and gardening decisions.

The current Florida planting zones are based on the 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map, which was updated to reflect changes in average minimum winter temperatures.
