Spent the day exploring the University of West Florida and came away seriously impressed 🌊💙

A few things that stood out right away…

This is a campus that really supports students — not just academically, but personally too. Students get 3 free counseling sessions, access to free medical services, and even a “Zen Den” with free massages (yes, really).

Academics feel hands-on and collaborative:
• STEM tutoring has its own dedicated space
• Engineering + cybersecurity labs are cutting edge
• Students literally write equations on the walls and professors jump in to solve them
• Small class sizes (about 22:1, lectures ~60 students)

The business program is a hidden gem — AACSB accredited (only ~7% of schools are!) and students can even invest real university money in the stock market 📈

Campus life is active but not overwhelming:
• 16 fraternities/sororities (no Greek houses, but still very social)
• 3 student plays each semester — and all props are built on campus 🎭
• Football energy is growing fast with a new stadium coming by Fall 2027

Housing is a big win here:
• No communal bathrooms 🙌
• Suite-style options (especially for athletes in Heritage Hall)
• Freshmen can bring cars
• Each room has its own AC unit (Florida parents… you get it 😅)

And the campus resources are next level:
• Library with 3D printing lab, equipment rentals, and even a book by Einstein
• “SkyLab” on the 5th floor = best views + top tech
• Starbucks inside ☕️
• Recreation center with climbing wall, indoor soccer, basketball + sound system

Safety is clearly a priority:
• 64 campus police posts
• Guardian app with emergency button + walk tracking
• (and apparently only one “dangerous” raccoon on campus 🦝😂)

Oh — and you’re just 25 minutes from Pensacola Beach 🌴

Bottom line: UWF offers a strong mix of academics, support, and lifestyle — especially for students who want a collaborative environment with real resources behind them.
